About Holger Volland

Holger is a business transformation expert and author on topics related to digital change. For over 25 years, he has worked with companies and institutions in the management and optimization of business processes – including as Vice President of the Frankfurt Book Fair. He founded THE ARTS+ a festival for digital culture. As author of "Die Zukunft ist smart. Du auch?" (The future is smart. You too?; Mosaik, Penguin Random House 2021), "Die kreative Macht der Maschinen" (The Creative Power of Machines; Beltz 2018) and numerous professional articles, he explores the impact of artificial intelligence and digitalization on society and our lives.

 

As a sought-after speaker on the topics of digitization, AI, cultural and creative industries, Holger has worked with companies such as Google, Accenture, TOTAL or BMW and appeared at SXSW as well as the Deutsche Welle Global Forum or the Taipei Book Fair.

 

After studying Information Science, Holger worked as Creative Director at Pixelpark in Berlin and New York, taught at Wismar University and headed the New Economy Business School of Scholz & Friends. He built up the communications agency Leipziger & Partner Berlin as founder and managing director and set up exhibitions and artist programs in Germany and Argentina. Most recently, he served on the management boards of Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels and MetaDesign Berlin.
